Sukhadi ..!! A traditional and delicious Gujarati dessert made on special occasion. Desi ghee and jaggary gives yummy taste to sweet.

Sukhadi


Preparation time : 5  min
Cooking time : 10-15 min
Serving : one medium size plate

Ingredients :
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour ( bhakhari no lot / kakro lot )
  • ½ cup + 1 tbsp ghee
  • ¾ cup jaggery ( gur / gol ) ( grated / fine chopped )
  • ¼ tsp ghee for greasing

Method :
  • In a deep, heavy based nonstick pan heat ghee.
  • Add flour.
  • Fry the wheat flour till it turns golden brown in color, stirring continuously ( approx 8-10 min ).
  • Remove from the flame and stir it for 3-4 min.
  • Add jaggery.
  • Mix well. Pure into greased plate. Spread it evenly with the help of the base of a small bowl ( katori ).
  • Keep it aside for 5-7 min.
  • Cut into diamond shapes while still warm and serve warm.
